Posted on 02 June 2017

The 2017 Conferring Ceremony will take place at the EUI on Friday, 9 June at 15:00, at the Badia Fiesolana.

The Institute will award ceremonial degrees to Ph.D. recipients in Economics, History and Civilization, Law, and Political and Social Sciences, and LL.M. recipients in Law.

This year's honoris causa degree recipients are economist Claudia Goldin and legal scholar and jurist András Sajó.

Dissertation prize winners are Haakon A. Ikonomou for the 2017 Prize in EU Integration; Charlotte M. Haberstroh for the Linz-Rokkan Prize in political and social sciences; Vera Pavlou for the Mauro Cappelletti Prize in law; and Vincent Maurin for the Vilfredo Pareto Prize in economics.

This is the nineteenth degree awarding ceremony at the EUI.  The tradition was started in 1996 under then-President Patrick Masterson.  It continued biennially until 2002, when it became an annual event.
