Computing Accounts 

EUI personal Computing Accounts are given to individuals allowing them access, among other things, to:

 

 

All IT facilities including those listed above (except EUI E-mail) require you to provide your EUI username (e.g. jsmith) and password [1] .

To access your EUI E-mail via BPOS Webmail you should use the full E-mail address (e.g. john.smith@eui.eu) and password to log in.

 

Eligible Individuals 

To qualify for an EUI computing account you must be one of the following:

  • Researcher
  • Fellow
  • Faculty
  • Administrative Staff
  • Visitor (for at least one month [2] )

The relevant contact in your Department, Programme, Project or Service will issue a formal request [3]  to the ICT Service to set up an account on your behalf.

 

Account Information Sheet 

Once an account has been created, the details (including login name, temporary password and EUI E-mail address) will be given to you in the form of an Account Information Sheet  upon arrival at the EUI:

  • Researchers, Jean Monnet Fellows and Max Weber Fellows: this will be at the beginning of the Academic Year on Registration Day, however if you arrive late then you will need to contact the Academic Service 
  • Fernand Braudel and Visiting Fellows: by the Welcome Unit 
  • Faculty, Visitor or Administrative Staff: by your Department, Programme, Project or Service of affiliation.

 

First Login  (Account Activation)

Once the Account Information Sheet has been issued to you, follow instructions for your First Login  to change password and activate your account.

 

Account Renewal 

Computing accounts are renewed automatically on the basis of EUI status information provided by Academic Service, Personnel Service, Departments, Robert Schuman Centre, Max Weber Programme.

Any Print Quotas will be checked and recalculated according to Printing Policy  (Logistics Service).

 

 

 

 

 

 

[1]  Some resources (VPN, EUI-WiFi, Personal, Web and Shared Areas, Network Printers) require you to specify the Institute's network domain, IUEDOM.

Whenever requested, this should be written and/or chosen in the "Domain" field. If no such field is available, the username should be written in the following format:

iuedom\your_EUI_username

 

[2]  If you do not qualify for an EUI personal computing account then the Secretary of your Department, Programme, Project or Service can arrange a Guest Account  for you.

 

[3]  Note that the ICT is only authorized to set up an account when it receives a formal request, so please do not contact IT User Support directly regarding account creation.
