EUI Modem Dial-Up Configuration for Windows XP
The below guide has been tested on MS Windows XP Professional. Screenshots are taken from XP Professional thus may slightly differ from other versions (XP Home Edition, etc.).

Your device must have a properly installed modem . Please refer to the vendor's Web site and download a proper driver for your Operating System. Advice on installing your modem can be provided by Portable Device Support .

Your computer must be configured according to Network Connection Configuration instructions.

You must have full Administrator rights on your Operating System.

You must be a member of the EUI with a valid Computing Account .
Step 1: Configuring a dial-up connection
Click on the Start menu icon.
Open the Control Panel.
If you are using your Control Panel in CATEGORY VIEW then proceed as described below; if using CLASSIC VIEW then please skip to the instructions a bit further down this document.
Category View
Select Network and Internet Connections.
Set up or change your Internet connection.
A pop-up window will appear under the heading Connections. Click the Setup button.
Go to Step 2.
Classic View
Double-click Network Connections.
Select Create a new connection.
Step 2: The "New Connection Wizard" opens
Click Next.
Select Connect to the Internet, and then click Next.
Select Set up my connection manually and click Next.
Select Connect using a dial-up modem and click Next.
Enter the ISP name as EUI and click Next.
Enter the phone number as 0555979700 and click Next.
Complete the next window as follows:
Username = your EUI login account name in the form: iuedom-username.
Enter your EUI password twice in the relevant boxes.
Leave all further boxes checked.
Click Next.
If you would like a shortcut added to your desktop then select this option and click Finish.
Step 3 : Make sure that the settings are correct
Just to be sure you set everything as described above ... open the Properties box for the connection as follows.
Click Start.
Open Control Panel, and then locate and click the Network Connections icon. This will vary slightly depending on the view you use to display the Control Panel. If using CLASSIC VIEW then Network Connections is viewed in the primary window. If using CATEGORY VIEW, it is located under Network and Internet Connections, and the Network Connections icon is to be found towards the bottom of the page.
With the right mouse button click on the EUI icon and select Properties.
The Properties should look like this:
Please note here and on any following screens that your named modem will be whatever you bought and installed, and the other settings (such as Modem port) will be whatever you happened to configure for your modem hardware.
Step 4 : Continue the configuration process
Click Configure and match the settings to the figure below, then click OK.
4a : Networking properties
Under the EUI Properties window select the Networking tab. Click once on Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and then Properties.
4b : In the window that appears carefully make the following selections:
Click Advanced.
4c : In the window that appears carefully proceed as follows:
Select the DNS tab. In the pane at the bottom of the window, add the DNS suffixes as shown. If you enter them in the wrong order simply use the arrows to the right of the pane to adjust their order.
Now click OK on the top two windows so that you are returned to the EUI Properties window.
4d : Final settings:
Below are three diagrams relating to the Options, Security and Advanced tabs of the EUI Properties dialogue window. The settings should be the default but if they are not, change them accordingly so they match.
Make particularly sure that the option "Protect my computer and network ..." is not selected.
Once all these settings are entered, click OK and then close the Control Panel. Reboot your system and your modem and dial-up are configured.
When connecting
If you did not add a shortcut to your desktop the connection can be found under:

Select the connection named EUI and double-click it, or double-click the shortcut created on your desktop.
For security reasons, uncheck the option "Save this user name and password ...".
