Installing VPN for Windows

1) Obtain the correct VPN client from the links below:

 

Download Client for Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 

Download Client for Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 (64-bit)  [1] 

 

2) After successful authentication, click Start Download and choose Save in the dialog box that appears. You are asked where to save the file. We suggest a temporary folder on your hard disk, e.g. C:Temp.

3) Once the download is complete, open the folder on your hard disk and double-click the downloaded file. This will automatically install VPN client on your PC.

4) When installation has been completed you will be asked to restart your computer:

Windows 7 and Vista: when requested to restart, click No (later), and restart your machine manually. If you don't (clicking 'Yes (restart)'), Windows 7 will logoff which is NOT enough to complete installation. Remember to restart your system manually!

Windows XP: users who have updated their system to Service Pack 2 should also view Using Cisco VPN Client with Windows XP Service Pack 2  [2] 

 



[1]   For users with Cisco VPN Client installed and/or who are downloading the 64bit version for Windows: download and import the EUI VPN profile  into Cisco VPN Client (menu Connection EntriesImport)

[2]   If Using Cisco VPN Client with Windows XP Service Pack 2, your VPN client does not connect, show the page Ports used by the EUI Cisco VPN client  to the network administrator of the institution where you work.
