Mailbox Quotas

This does NOT apply to e-mail accounts of Researchers/Fellows arriving as of academic year 2010/11

  • When your mail server storage space reaches 175MB (275MB for EUI professors), you will receive repeated warnings asking you to clean up your mailbox
  • If your mailbox reaches 200MB (300MB for EUI professors), you will be disabled from sending email BUT your incoming email will still arrive
  • If your mailbox reaches 500MB, you will be disabled from sending AND receiving email and anything sent to your eui.eu address will automatically be returned to sender with a system message

The largest single incoming/outgoing e-mail accepted by the EUI mailer is 10MB, but when encoded as an e-mail attachment this increases by up to 30%, so the size of the original document must be well below 10MB.

See Managing Your Exchange Mailbox  for ways to keep your mailbox clean and to work effectively with e-mail and other Exchange facilities.

If the mailbox quota is too low for the work you do, request an increase; justifiable requests are considered.

P.S. Do not confuse your e-mail server space with the disk quota on G: drive (RESSRV1, BFSRV3, VSPSRV1 etc.)
