Configuring Outlook 2011 for Mac for use with BPOS in Exchange Mode

 

If you use Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac [1] , you can configure it for your EUI E-mail address via Sign In tool.

 

Please Note: you can follow the documentation as well to set up additional mailboxes (such as Project mailboxes, etc.) in your Outlook.

 

 

Pre-requisites

 

Procedure

  1. If the Sign In tool does not already start automatically, open it by double-clicking its icon (either on your dock or in Applications).
  2. Fill in the fields as follows:


    User name = firstname.lastname@eui.eu (e.g.: john.smith@eui.eu)

    Password = your_EUI_password

     

    Tick the Remember my user name filed and uncheck Remember my password (mandatory on EUI computers) the click Sign In to continue:

  3. The Sign-In tool will offer to configure Outlook for you. Make sure that Internet Explorer, and of course Outlook, are closed and click Configure applications:

  4. After a moment Outlook will either open right away or call your attention (bouncing icon in the dock) with an "autodiscovery/redirect" message. Tick Always use my response for this server and click Allow to end the configuration:

You have now succesfully configured Outlook to use with BPOS!

 

Opening Outlook via the Sign In tool by clicking on E-Mail and Calendaring ensures that you will have all program functionalities available during your work:

If you need to set up additional Profiles (such as Project mailboxes, etc.), repeat the above procedure from the very beginning.

 

 

 

 

 

[1]     = It is also possible to configure Outllok 2008 for Mac via Sign In Tool following the above guide. However, procedure and screenshots may slightly differ.
