Researcher Flats

The EUI administers one building of 11 furnished flats for EUI researchers only, at Pian di Mugnone, Fiesole, which is 3 km North of the EUI, 7 km. North of Florence, and about 40 minutes from the EUI on foot.

Logistics Service, and its Housing Office, are responsible for their day-to-day running.

the EUI will have soon another building of 60 furnished apartments along the via Faentina, Ponte alla Badia (Firenze) 300 meters far from European University Institute.

 

 

 

Building at Via Faentina 94b, Pian del Mugnone (Fiesole)  

Building is mostly 2-bedroom flats, some single and some double of approx. 58 sq.m. There is 1 larger flat with 4 bedrooms, 2 double bedroom and 2 singles of 106 sq.m. (flat n° 11)

Each flat has a shared living room-kitchen (with basic kitchenware), bathroom, a large balcony & gas-fired indipendent heating. EUI does not provide sheets & towels, linens and  bed-clothes.

There are 4 large garages; in the second garage there is the laundry with 3 washing machines and 2 dryers for common use.

Ground floor: 4 Type A1 flats (no. 1, 2, 5, 6), each with 2 single bedrooms, living room-kitchen, bathroom, for 2 people, € 274 (for 1 single bedroom) with charges included.

Ground floor: 2 Type A2 flats (no. 9 and 10), each with 2 single bedrooms, living room-kitchen, bathroom, for 2 people, € 350 (for 1 single bedroom) with charges included. Flats just renovated.

First floor: 4 Type B flats (no. 3, 4, 7, 8), each with 1 single bedroom & 1 double bedroom, living room-kitchen & bathroom, for families or 2 people, € 528 with charges included.

First floor: 1 Type C flat (no. 11)   with living room-kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 double bedrooms, 2 single bedrooms, for large families or 4 people, € 1400 with charges included. Flat just renovated.

The Type A1 and A2 flats are normally for singles, but if there are many requests from families, the flats will be let  preferentially to families (respectively € 528 and € 700).

The Type B flats are normally for families but if there are too few requests from families, the rooms will be let separately as double or single rooms (€ 274).

If no family rents flat 11, rooms are let separately: € 300 (little single); € 350 (medium single); € 375 (two double)

Admission is granted from 1 September until 30 June of each academic year. The minimum period for leasing a room or flat is 10 months and may be extended until the summer months provided the tenant informs the Institute by the end of May each year. 

 

Buses 

Daytime bus connections to the EUI and to Florence, are more or less half-hourly (bus n. 21, from Via Pacinotti - Piazza Le Cure - to La Querciola). Fiesole is connected to Pian di Mugnone by the Li-Nea bus company.
