Mapping Network Printers on Windows 7

This information is for users who want to print from their laptops on a MultiFunction Network Printer . See the list  for the Multifunction Network Printer you wish to use.

The procedure has only been verified for machines running MS Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate, 32bit Edition.

N.B. this documentation assumes that your network connection is already working. See PC to LAN connection parameters  for more information. Note that you will need full Administrator rights on your machine to complete all the steps successfully.

  • Open Windows Explorer
  • In the address bar type directly (followed by Enter) path and name of the printer you want to connect to, in the format: \\printerserver\NetworkPrinter
see list of Multifunction Network Printers  to choose machiner to use, e.g. to map Badia Fiesolana PrintServer (bfps), type: \\bfps\NetworkPrinter
  • Give EUI credentials (username and password), where your username should be written in the format: iuedom\username

  • Shortly after, accept the drivers to be pushed directly from the printserver onto your laptop
  • Done!
