This workshop will analyze the EU in international negotiations from different theoretical, methodological, and empirical perspectives. It will tackle bilateral, interregional, and multilateral negotiations with both developed and developing countries as well as international organizations. The workshop will examine the EU in a variety of issues, such as trade, money laundering or the environment to provide a comprehensive picture of the EU in international negotiations both before and after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty. It will thus contribute to our better understanding of the EU's actual policies and behaviour in its relations with the wider world. By bringing together scholars at different stages of their academic careers the spread of ideas will be encouraged. The workshop will be open to the public.
