Dates:
  • Thu 25 Apr 2013 17.45 - 20.00
  Add to Calendar 2013-04-25 17:45 2013-04-25 20:00 Europe/Paris The ICJ’s 2012 Judicial Year in Review

The aim of this conference is to critically analyse the judicial activities undertaken by the International Court of Justice in the previous year (in this case, 2012), with the view to not only evaluate the individual judgments rendered during the previous year, but also to reflect on their broader significance. The conference will consist of three parts. It will begin with a keynote lecture, and continue with a series of presentations that will address the three most important judgments handed down by the ICJ in 2012. There will be two interventions for each judgment, the first designed to critically summarise the judgment and provide the relevant context, while the second will then reflect on the judgment and explore its ramifications. The conference will be concluded with a wrap-up session, putting the various judgments and the Court´s 2012 practice into a broader and more general perspective."
