Pasts and Futures of International Order

Director: Glenda Sluga

Pasts and Futures of International Order is a research cluster that currently encompasses two programmes:

  • Inventing the International, ARC Laureate Program in International History, based at the University of Sydney, 2014-2019. The programme explored innovative questions about how people have imagined the international as a realm of politics and society in the past. Visit the website
  • International Thinking, a collaborative initiative that pioneers systematic multi-disciplinary research on the nature and development of the modern international order. The initiative explores: How can scholars of International History, International Relations and International Law help us understand the relevance of international thinking in the 21st century?
