September 2023

All new researchers are required to attend a few introductory meetings at the beginning of the year. For further information see the Induction Programme.

LLM/First-Year Personal Research Plan

First-year and LLM researchers must agree, in consultation with their supervisor (even if provisional), on a Personal Research Plan (PRP). The PRP approved by the supervisor should be sent to [email protected] by 2 October 2023 at 12:00 (noon)

Please follow the below steps:

• Fill in the PRP form
• Download your seminar registrations overview, to be attached to the PRP
• Submit your PRP form and your seminar registrations overview to your supervisor for approval before submitting it to [email protected]

December 2023 - Research Question Workshop

On 11 December 2023, LLM/First-year PhD researchers will participate in a mandatory one-day workshop where they will be divided into groups and present their proposed research question to receive feedback from professors, Max Weber Fellows and other researchers.

February 2024 - February Paper and Workshop

All LLM and First-year PhD researchers are required to submit the February paper by 12:00 (noon), on 15 February 2024.

The researchers will then discuss the February Paper and receive feedback from Max Weber Fellows and other researchers  at the Peer Feedback Workshop on 29 February 2024.

May Paper - First-year PhD researchers

All first-year PhD researchers are required to submit a May Paper by 12:00 (noon), on 2 May 2024.

May Paper Defences before a panel of three readers will take place between 27 and 29 May 2024.

LLM thesis - LLM researchers

The deadline for submission of the final version of the LLM thesis is 12:00 (noon), on 1 October 2024.
