Danielle is a lawyer and Visiting Fellow at the RSCAS (September 2016-June 2017). She holds a PhD in Law and a master degree from the European University Institute. She also holds a master degree in public health from the Brazilian School of Public Health (ENSP/FIOCRUZ) and a B.A. in Law from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).
Her multidisciplinary profile and background allowed her to engage in different research topics related to the fields of health and law. In the last 10 years she has undertaken research in these areas from the perspectives of consumer protection law, human rights, judicial enforcement of socio-economic rights with regards to access to medicines through public health systems, and organisation and delivery of health care services. Her publications include peer reviewed articles, book chapters and a recent monograph entitled "EU Health Systems and Distributive Justice Towards New Paradigms for the Provision of Health Care Services?" (Routledge, 2016).
