Global Leadership in Hard Times: Evidence from the Great Depression and Great Recession

Description

It is often remarked that the Great Recession is the greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression. It is also conventional wisdom that leaders' responses were very different this time around because policymakers knew the history of the 1930s. This conference brings together leading scholars and practitioners to explore the contested contours and concepts of global leadership in periods of financial meltdown. The conference will include two keynote talks by Prof. Patricia Clavin (Jesus College, Oxford) and Dr. David Wright (Secretary General of the International Organization of Securities Commissions). 3 March 2016
