The MWP is doubly proud to announce that Philip Ayoub, SPS Fellow 2013-2014, has been awarded two very prestigious prizes for his dissertation: the 2014 APSA Human Rights Section award for the Best Dissertation in Human Rights and the 2014 Janice N. and Milton J. Esman Graduate Prize from Cornell University.

According to the awarding committee at Cornell "Phil’s dissertation – entitled “When States ‘Come Out’: The Politics of Visibility and the Diffusion of Sexual Minority Rights in Europe” – examines the social and political processes that move the political margin, in this case the European LGBT movement, to the center of political debate and legal recognition.  It is both methodologically sophisticated and politically important worK".
