eBook Collections

ACLS Humanities eBook
The ACLS Humanities eBook (HEB) is a growing collection of eBooks of major importance in the Humanities. All parts of the world and all periods are included. The fields currently included in the database are Area Studies, Historical Studies, Art History, Literature, Political Science and Religion. 



Bloomsbury Collections
Bloomsbury Collections features content from Bloomsbury’s latest research publications as well as a 100+ year legacy including Hart Publishing, Continuum, T&T Clark, Bristol Classical Press, Berg and The Arden Shakespeare. The Library subscribed to the Hart Collection for the years 2017 and 2018 and has selected titles from the History Collection.


Brill eBooks
Brill eBooks offers access to ebooks covering Humanities and International Law from Brill publishers. The EUI Library has selected individual titles of interest to EUI members. 

In addition, the Library subscribes to the Collected Courses of the Hague Academy of International Law. Courses are published in the Collected Courses, the Academy’s flagship collection. These contributions by prestigious authors deal with the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject, including legislation and case law.


Cambridge Core Online offers access to eBooks from Cambridge University Press.

The Library currently subscribes to the Cambridge Social Science Collection with approximately 20.000 titles, and has selected other individual titles of interest to EUI members.





Cambridge Histories Online
The Cambridge Histories Online and offers access to the print editions published since the 1960s. It contains over 350 printed volumes published since 1960 covering different areas in history and is updated continuously with new volumes as soon as they are published. 

De Gruyter eBooks

Online platform for full-text eBooks published by De Gruyter. 

The EUI Library offers a selection of titles, including the complete History Archives 1990 – 2014 

Duncker and Humblot eLibrary

The EUI Library has access to a selection of eBook titles from Duncker and Humblot eLibrary.

Ebsco eBook Collection

Ebsco eBook Collection is a platform for full-text ebooks from a wide range of publishers. The EUI Library has selected individual titles of interest to EUI members. 



Elgaronline includes all new Edward Elgar Publishing scholarly monographs, journals, original reference books and handbooks, covering the social sciences and law. 
The EUI Library has access to only a selection of titles in the Law collection.


Elsevier handbooks in Economics (Science Direct)
The Handbooks in Economics series (now Science Direct) provides reference sources in the various branches of economics. The EUI Library has access to a selection of titles only.


Franz Steiner eLibrary
The EUI Library has access to a selection of eBook titles from Franz Steiner Verlag eLibrary.


Harmatheque eBooks

Harmatheque eBooks offers access to eBooks covering Humanities and Social Science from several French publishers.


JSTOR eBooks
Books are integrated with journal articles and primary sources on JSTOR’s platform. The EUI Library subscribes to a selection of titles. 



Loeb Classical Library 

Digital edition of the Loeb Classical Library offering online access to important works of Greek and Latin literature alongside English translations.  


Nomos eLibrary
Nomos eLibrary offers access to eBooks from Nomos.  The EUI Library offers access to selected individual titles of interest to EUI members. 


Open Access eBooks (selected titles)
This is a growing collection of freely available titles in the area of Humanities and Social Sciences. The EUI Library supports Open Access and currently pays a membership to OpenBook Publishers and OpenEdition




Oxford Handbooks Online
This is a collection of subject-based research guides containing in-depth, high-level articles by scholars at the top of their field. The EUI Library provides access to five subject collections:


Oxford Reference Online (Oxford University Press)

 A single cross-searchable database, which brings together well-known and trusted dictionaries, reference books and encyclopaedias in a broad range of subjects.

Oxford Scholarship Online (Oxford University Press)

This is a cross-searchable collection containing eBooks in the following subjects:


Peter Lang eBooks
The EUI Library has access to selected eBooks titles from publisher Peter Lang covering Social Sciences and Humanities.  



Project Muse eBooks
The Project Muse platform provides access to eBooks from a wide range of publishers. The EUI Library has access to selected titles.



ProQuest eBook Central
ProQuest eBook Central platform provides access to ebooks from a wide range of publishers. All the EBL eBook Library eBooks have been moved to this new platform.



Sage research methods

The SAGE Research Methods platform provides eBooks, videos, podcasts and tools in support of all aspects of social science research methodology.


Springer eBooks
The SpringerLink platform offers cross-searchable access to eBooks and eJournals published by Springer and former Palgrave Macmillan titles. The EUI Library provides access to the following collections: 



Taylor & Francis eBooks
Taylor & Francis eBooks platform offers full-text access to eBooks in Humanities, Social Sciences and Law from Taylor & Francis Group and its associated imprints, including Routledge. Full-text access is limited to eBook titles purchased by the EUI.


Torrossa eBooks

This eBook and eJournal platform by Casalini Libri provides access to publications from Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese publishers. The EUI Library provides access to a selection of eBook titles.

University Press Scholarship eBooks

This custom selection of eBook titles brings together works from some of the world’s most well known university presses.

Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht eBooks
The V&R eLibrary platform provides access to eBooks from Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht and V&R unipress in the subject areas of Religion, History, Classics, Philosophy, and other Humanities and Social Sciences. The EUI Library offers access to a selection of titles only.



Wiley eBooks
Wiley Online Library platform provides access to eBooks. The EUI Library has access to selected titles.




Women Writers Online (Women Writers Project)
Women Writers Online is a full-text collection of early women’s writing in English, published by the Women Writers Project at Northeastern University. It includes full transcriptions of texts published between 1526 and 1850, focusing on materials that are rare or inaccessible.
