Guide for External Users

In view of the measures taken to contain COVID19, the Library will be closed to all usersuntil further notice.
 

Access & rules

  • Apply for access

  • Access to external users: 
    Monday to Friday. 
    No access on Saturdays

  • Pick up your new Library card from the Control Room: Monday to Friday  09.00 - 12.30 and 13.30 - 16.00

  • Keep the Library Card with you at all times

  • External users must respect library rules

Information services

Study spaces 

  • Around 200 workspaces available to all users

  • 'First-come, first-served' workspaces cleared of all material each morning

  • LAN cables for laptops in all workspaces

eResources

  • External users have access to licensed eResources when in the Library
  • Consult eResources via the 6 Pcs on the Library Entrance floor or by using your laptop connected with LAN cables
  • Copyright laws and individual licence agreements must be respected when accessing e-resources

Collections

  • Consult the Catalogue to find and locate materials
  • Most of the Library’s holdings on open shelving
  • Requested material from storage delivered Monday to Friday. Material requested before 1 pm it will be available later that afternoon
 
 

Borrowing

  • External users have no borrowing rights

  • Books can be borrowed through your home Library via InterLibrary Loan

Photocopying & Printing

 

Using Computers

  • 6 PCs on the Entrance floor available to all external users
  • 8 wall-mounted PCs in the Library for Catalogue and Internet consultation
  • LAN cables for laptops in all workspaces
  • WI-FI available if your home institution is a member of eduroam, or via EUI guest WI-FI
