Library services during the coronavirus emergency

From Monday 16 November, the Library will be open two days a week only for picking up and returning books.

Please, place holds on the books that you would like to consult and pick them up at the Library loan desk or at the receptions of Villa Salviati, Villa Schifanoia and Villa La Fonte. When you receive a Hold Pickup Notice by email, you can go and pick them up. 

Books may be returned in the book-drop boxes in the Library corridor and in Villa Salviati, Villa Schifanoia and Villa La Fonte. 

Access is not possible for alumni, retired members or external users.

How to access

Both the entrance and the exit are through the door in the President's corridor. The door to the Vasco da Gama room will be closed. 
All users must wear face masks inside the Library at all times.

The Library, in collaboration with REFs, acquired several devices to sterilise books. Items returned from loan are disinfected with dry steam at 160ºC.

Can I access my locker?
Yes, you can enter to remove your material during the loan desk opening hours.

Where can I print/scan in the Badia?
You can use the multifunction machine in  the upper cloister and in the bank corridor.

Can I leave books in the villas?
Yes, you can find book drops in Villa Schifanoia, Villa La Fonte and Villa Salviati. Books are collected once a day at around 12.30.

Where is the book drop if I don’t need to enter the Library?
In the corridor near the exit.

Is there a bookdrop inside the library?
Just inside the door on the right-hand side.
