 Hani Okashesh

Hani Okasheh is a researcher, who is passionate about the rights of people on the move. He has worked extensively to promote refugee rights in Jordan through enhancing their access to justice, civil documentation, labour and education. Regionally and through civil society networks, Hani advocated for safeguarding the rights of migrants.

Nominally, he actively engaged in the negotiations that preceded the formulation of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM). In addition, Hani worked extensively to advocate for enhancing the protection of internally displaced people in Syria through calling for sustained humanitarian access to populations in need.

Hani holds an MA in Human Rights and Human Development from the University of Jordan, and a BA in Cultural Studies from the Hashemite University in Jordan.
