Topic: Creating alternative “tables” of youth governance for socio-economic transformation in Africa


Tariro Bure works at the Mandela Institute for Development Studies (MINDS) as coordinator of the African Youth Networks Movement (AYNM). AYNM aims to be integral to spurring growth and prosperity, strengthening democratic governance, and enhancing peace and stability across Africa. In her role, she was instrumental in the launch of the movement and setting up chapters for the initiative which now has a reach of more than 900,000 in 37 African countries.

She earned a BA in Global Economics and Management at Jacobs University Bremen in Germany and is passionate about working on social impact initiatives. Tariro’s professional interests focus on youth inclusion and effective participation in the socio-economic transformation in Africa.

Previously, she helped start-up one of the most innovative tertiary institutes on the continent, the African Leadership University. At EUI, she will research the best practices in transnational governance in Europe and their application to youth movement platforms in Africa.
