Massimiliano Santini

Fellowship period: 3 September 2018 - 3 May 2019 and 3 June - 3 July 2019

Massimiliano Santini is a senior economist on leave from the World Bank, where he led the policy dialogue with governments to design and implement reforms that improve countries’ competitiveness, governance, and business environment. During the fellowship with the EUI, Massimiliano will assess globalisation’s shortcomings and propose practical solutions that address people’s fears and needs in a coherent and positive narrative. Massimiliano has 18+ years of experience in private sector development, investment climate, and entrepreneurship. He has worked in 20+ countries, including Colombia, Hungary, Tanzania, India, and most recently, the Western Balkans. Prior to joining the World Bank, Massimiliano held a variety of positions in multilateral organisations and in the private, non-profit, and media sectors. Massimiliano graduated from the Master in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) program at Harvard Kennedy School, and holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Modena in Italy.
