Grant Information for Greece/Hellas

The application for admission to the EUI doctoral programme is NOT automatically an application for a national grant. In addition to the EUI online application, candidates are required to submit a separate set of documents (specified below) by registered mail to the national grant authority.

Τhe Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), for the academic year 2018-2019, will support the appointment of five (5) Greek PhD candidates in the context of EUI’s Doctoral Programme. Τhe scholarships will be awarded by IKY  in collaboration with EUI. Candidates shall:

  • submit their applications and requested documents through the EUI’s Online Application Form in compliance with the EUI’s application procedures and deadlines (on-line submission by: 31/01/2018).
  • Candidates shall also submit to IKY a copy of their application along with the requested documents in compliance with IKY’s application procedures and deadlines (hard copy submission by 09/02/2018).

Applicants must meet both EUI’s and IKY’s eligibility criteria. The selection shall be made by EUI in accordance with EUI’s doctoral programme selection procedure.

Grant and Allowances

  • Monthly grant: 1,050 EUR
  • Partner allowance: no
  • Travel allowance: no
  • First settlement costs: 241 EUR
  • Insurance: up to 450 EUR/year.

The Grant Authority provides a monthly grant for the first three years of EUI Ph.D. Programme. The fourth year is covered by the EUI (2018 grant is 1,315 EUR per month, in addition to other allowances).
