Three-Minute Ph.D. Competition in the Social Sciences

The EUI is launching its first ever Ph.D. Competition in the Social Sciences and Humanities today. EUI Ph.D. researchers are invited to submit a three-minute video explaining their research in an engaging form to a non-specialized audience. Deadline for submission is 19th January 2018.

Careers in academic and non-academic job markets

A panel discussion with EUI Alumni on careers in academic and non-academic job markets will inform researchers and post-doctoral fellows about the professional journeys of former EUI researchers. The panel discussion will be followed by individual drop-in sessions to give researchers the opportunity to discuss more specific issues of their career plans. Researchers Try Out Communication Tools in a New Workshop at EUI

Ph.D. researchers tried out new tools to communicate their research. Participants say about the course "Using new communication tools can be frightening; this workshop instead proved how easy it is to produce a blog post, a policy brief, a 3 min video and even a full webinar. From this workshop I learned that increasing the visibility of my research can be done within a few hours and it is very rewarding!" A new edition of the course will be offered in April 2017, registration will open soon.

News Ethics and Integrity in Doctoral Education and Research Training

The Director of the Academic Service Veerle Deckmyn gave a presentation on 'Provisions and practices on ethics and integrity in doctoral education in an international research institution in the social sciences' at the Annual Event of the Council for Doctoral Education of the European University Association (EUA) in a session that looked at how to foster supportive work environments and conducive institutional strategies. These EUA-CDE thematic workshops provide a forum for exchange and discussion between EUA's members and this year's edition focused on 'Ethics and integrity in doctoral education and research training'.Find the slides on the conference programme page.
