She received her Ph.D. in Economic History at the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2001. Her current fields of research are Early modern history of the Hispanic WorldGlobal economic and social history, the history of state and empire-building, colonial governance, comparative history of private and public commercial institutions and legal norms.
