To do this, please use the passport/ID attachment field of the EUI Online Application form.

Eligibility Criteria

In addition to the general EUI application criteria, to be eligible for a Dutch EUI grant you must meet the following two eligibility criteria to apply:

Minimum academic requirements

You must have successfully obtained a doctoral diploma or Master’s degree.

Nationality/residence requirements

Dutch nationals:

Must submit a copy of a valid Dutch passport or ID-card (front and back) with your EUI application.

Non-Dutch nationals:

However, those employed in the Netherlands must be employed for at least one year prior to the EUI application deadline. This also applies to applicants whose partner is employed in the Netherlands.

You can check whether you are eligible for Dutch student finance on the DUO website. The requirements for both residents with -and without a residence permit are indicated on their website, including the documentation needed to support eligibility.

Submit the documents to support eligibility with your EUI application using the passport/ID attachment field of the EUI Online Application form.

Dual nationality:

If you hold dual nationality (Dutch/other nationality) and you meet all criteria as shown above you may apply.

Eligibility is carefully verified for each applicant. Applications that do not meet the criteria (shown above) will not be taken into further consideration.
