This year, the often neglected issue of female work in Pre-industrial Europe has been tackled by two innovative books published in Italy: Anna Bellavitis’s “Il lavoro delle donne nelle città dell’Europa moderna” and Maria Paola Zanoboni’s “Donne al lavoro nell’ Italia e nell’ Europa medievali (secoli XIII-XV)”. In this workshop, we bring together the authors of the two books seeking to investigate the economic roles of women in Pre-industrial Europe.
