Add to Calendar 2017-02-07 17:00 2017-02-07 19:00 Europe/Paris StaTalk - New challenges in demographic research

StaTalks are free, one-day workshops on statistical topics whose seminars feature introductory tutorials and more advanced research topics, still kept at an expository level. Aimed at Master’s and PhD students, as well as at post-docs and young researchers, StaTalks are intended to be informal gatherings which allow for a more proficient interaction between presenters and participants. StaTalks are thus a great opportunity to become acquainted with the workshop main topic, as well as to share and update one's knowledge on the interface of Statistical research in an easy and informal atmosphere.
The first StaTalk on Biostatistics was held on April 24th 2015 at the Università degli Studi di Milano. The second StaTalk on Bayesian Nonparametrics was held on February 19th 2016 at Collegio Carlo Alberto. The third StaTalk on Computational Tools for Statistical Modelling was held on September 9th 2016 at the Università La Sapienza di Roma.
The fourth StaTalk on New challenges in demographic research will be on February 7th 2017, and will cover the most recent topics at the forefront in the field of Demography. Università degli Studi di Firenze and European University Institute will host the event, whose speakers will be faculty members of the two universities as well as national and international researchers in the fields of demography and social statistics.
The StaTalk on New challenges in demographic research is endorsed by y-SIS, the young section of the Italian Statistical Society, and is supported by the Italian Association for Population Studies (AISP), the demography section of the Italian Statistical Society, the Dipartimento di Statistica, Informatica, Applicazioni “G.
