The European University Institute (EUI) is launching the EUI in Brussels programme to strengthen its engagement with the world of practice and bring the fruits of its research to a Brussels audience on a more regular basis. Given the presence of a large number of distinguished EUI alumni in Brussels, the launch of the programme is an event to connect with these highly valued alumni. The Roundtable will be moderated by the EU Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström. The hour-long Roundtable on 'Europe’s Union in Transition' will consist of interventions from three EUI professors: President Renaud Dehousse, Brigid Laffan and Hanspeter Kriesi, followed by an open discussion with the audience. Europe’s Union has come through a period of tumult, tension and conflict and is challenged from within and without. The interventions will address a range of issues, including the impact of heightened politicisation on the Union and its ability to manage greater divergence and differentiation.

A reception will follow.
