Add to Calendar 2018-10-11 9:00 2018-10-12 18:30 Europe/Paris The Political Consequences of the Great Recession

This conference marks the concluding phase of the ERC project POLCON, which has been devoted to the study of the political consequences of the Great Recession in the electoral and the protest arena. The goal of the conference is twofold. It provides an opportunity for an exchange between the project members with experts working in the field, and it is an opportunity to take stock of major developments in the field of research on politics in times of crises. In five sessions, members of the POLCON team will introduce key results of the project, which will then be discussed by two experts based on their own work. Three round tables will be organized to take stock.
The three round tables are open to all the members of the EUI:

October 10: 18:00-19:30
Round table 1: The Great Recession – a critical juncture in European politics?
Participants: Swen Hutter, Dorothee Bohle, Herbert Kitschelt, Wolfgang Streeck

October 11: 16:45-18:15
Round table II: The fate of social democracy in Europe
Participants: Björn Bremer, Silja Häusermann, Anton Hemerijck, Philip Manow

October 12: 14.15-16.00
Round table III: Where do we go from here? What is next on the
research agenda of the political consequences of crises?
Participants: Hanspeter Kriesi, Maurizio Ferrera, Edgar Grande, Sara Hobolt, Brigid Laffan

EUI members interested in participating in the five sessions are asked to register with Maureen Lechleitner ([email protected]).
