We welcome Jean-Claude Trichet (President of the European Central Bank from 2003-2011) for the second installment of the ‘Leaders Beyond the State’ series, in which former presidents of the European institutions will be invited to the EUI to record their experiences as leaders in transnational government. The public interviews will create a forum in which academics, policy-makers, journalists and members of the public can engage with the leaders who have shaped the European Union to date.

The public interview will take place in Refettorio, Badia Fiesolana and will be live-streamed on Facebook and Politico.

The event will be introduced by President Renaud Dehousse with Pierre Briançon (Politico Europe's Chief Economics Correspondent) as moderator of the public interview. The interviewers are Agnieszka Smolenska (Researcher from the Department of Law), Dr. Emmanuel Mourlon-Druol (Jean Monnet Fellow, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies), Jonas Huus Ervik (Researcher from the Department of Political and Social Sciences) and Dr. Alexandra Fotiou (Max Weber Fellow, Department of Economics). There will also be the opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
