Leaders Beyond the State: an Interview with Herman Van Rompuy
For the last installment of the year of the Leaders Beyond the State series, we will welcome Herman van Rompuy, who served as the first President of the European Council (2009-2014). The ‘Leaders Beyond the State’ series is part of an oral history project of the Historical Archives of the European Union, in which former presidents of the European institutions are invited to the EUI to record their experiences as leaders in transnational government. The public interviews create a forum in which academics, policy-makers, journalists and members of the public can engage with the leaders who have shaped the European Union to date.
