The talk will address novel modes of EU soft governance as an upgrade of the Open Method of Coordination in subsidiary policy areas.
In fact, the European Commission has recently explored new tools for policy coordination in the education and training policy sector, not only through the traditional liturgy which encompasses the exchange of best practices, liaising key actors to establish partnerships, policy mentoring and policy counseling opportunities when launching new reforms, but also creating formal commitment in terms of subsequent implementation on a national level, with unprecedented binding implications for Member States which participate in this process.
