Luís Roberto Barroso is a Justice at the Brazilian Supreme Court. He holds an LL.M. from Yale Law School and an SJD degree from Rio de Janeiro State University, where he has been a law professor since the 1980's. He did his post-doctoral studies at Harvard Law School, where he has also been a Visiting Scholar. He is currently Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. He has published extensively in Brazil, in the United States, in Latin American countries and in Europe.

Starting in January 2018 and continuing throughout the year, the ‘My Career’ series aims to inspire anyone interested in a career in policy making. The School of Transnational Governance (STG) will invite high-profile individuals working in different policy areas to talk about their careers, in discussion with the audience and participants from different departments of the EUI. Active participation and engagement with the speakers will be highly encouraged.

During his career talk, Luis Roberto Barroso will share his experience and engage in a discussion with:
- Sergio Fabbrini, Dean of the Department of Political Sciences and Professor of Political Science and International Relations, LUISS University
- Tatiana Falcao, Policy Leaders Fellow, School of Transnational Governance (EUI)
