The Florence School of Regulation is happy to host the 6th EU-India Smart Grids Workshop from 19 to 22 November 2018. The workshop will host high-level dignitaries from the Indian central and state regulators and DSOs .

Smart grids have been singled out as a priority area of cooperation in the frame of the EU – India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership, adopted at 2016 EU-India Summit (30 March 2016 in Brussels). The Leaders’ Statement on Clean Energy and Climate, adopted at 2017 EU-India Summit (6 October 2017, Delhi) confirmed the importance of continued cooperation on smart grids development and deployment. The first work programme of the Clean Energy and Climate Partnership, decided at the EU-India Energy Panel meeting of 26 October 2016, foresees continued exchanges between the EU and India on smart grids.

The first two days of the agenda will focus on the existing India-EU energy programs and will focus on topical issues related to electric vehicles, energy storage, including charging infrastructure, vehicle to grid, business models, interoperability, standardisation and grid integration.

The third day of the workshop lead by FSR is a roundtable dedicated to the topic ‘Regulation for cost-effective integration of large shares of renewable energy’. Both EU and Indian speakers will be present, and the floor will open for discussions.
