Add to Calendar 2018-11-30 11:00 2018-11-30 13:00 Europe/Paris Galileo between Science and Myth

When was the myth of Galileo born? Is it possible to establish the exact moment when science becomes its own celebration? How does the Italian scientist’s image change after his death? How have different social and political contexts affected the creation and continuous renewal of his multiple images making his figure one of the most conflictive symbols of modernity?
These questions will be discussed by Massimo Bucciantini in his lecture.
