Migration between Africa and Europe: Knowledge Production, Attitudes, and Governance, The Migration Policy Centreʼs Annual Conference 2019
The 2019 conference will focus on the relationships between knowledge production, attitudes and governance on migration between Africa and Europe. The conference aims to understand more about these gaps and also to think about whether and how they can be bridged. It addresses three broad questions: what is the use of such large gaps between migration debates and migration realities, and how can these gaps be reduced? To do so, the conference makes connections between knowledge production, attitudes and governance. It will do so by exploring key themes, including: migration, foreign aid and development; public attitudes to and governance of migration; regional cooperation; the role of cities and the private sector; border security, trafficking and smuggling; and, the effects of environmental and climate change.
