New Response Frameworks to Refugee Crises: Case Study of Refugee Settlements in Zambia
The reshaping of the humanitarian global system outlines the importance of elevating local responses to displacement, and in particular, the need to better define cooperation to share the responsibility for hosting and supporting the world’s refugees, stronger linkages between humanitarian aid and development investment, more predictable funding and durable solutions. The case study underway proposes to document, the local application of these international frameworks by describing how they shape the refugee response of the Government of the Republic Zambia (GRZ). The case study intends to capture the lessons and generate knowledge that will inform future responses and actionable next steps. In this talk, I will describe my research-in-progress to elicit useful early-stage feedback, share ideas and foster discussions and collaborations with peers
