First Year Workshop

The Security, Borders and Criminal Justice Working Group provides a platform for researchers interested in discussing issues related to the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice and to the Digital world. In that regard, it is hosting a workshop in order for the first-year researchers to get feedback on their February Papers.

Presentations will last 5-10 minutes, followed by 15-20 min discussion. Everyone is welcome to participate and provide feedback.

 

The presentations will be as follows: 

 

• Constitutionalism without the state: the rise of Digital Corporate States and ‘Digital Constitutionalism’, by Francisco Duarte 

• Referees or Rambos? Convoluted Roles and Natures of the National Data Protection Authorities, by Maria Magierska

• Reconstructing accountability nexus in Integrated Border Management, by Michele Gigli

• Accountability and transparency on data collected by facial recognition systems, by Natalia Menéndez
