Add to Calendar 2020-02-24 16:00 2020-02-24 17:30 Europe/Paris Presentation of the book MALTESE ARCHIVES... my choice by Dr Charles J. Farrugia

On the occasion of his 30th year of service to the National Archives of Malta, Charles J. Farrugia presents a selection of records following his visit to more than sixty archives in Malta and Gozo. The scope of this publication is not for the reader to stop and ponder on the items themselves; instead, each record is a fragment from a chain of evidence. Their relevance transcends the walls of the archives in which they are preserved. This book aims to show how archives play a fundamental role in favour of the people, good governance, accountability and the preservation of the community’s memory for future generations. It contributes to highlighting the dynamic relationship between archives and society and places the Maltese Archives in a European and international perspective.
