Law Department Induction Day

The first induction day will begin with the guided tours of Villa Salviati and the Historical Archives of the European Union.

In the afternoon, professor Martijn Hesselink will deliver an 'Introductory lecture on research methods in law' which will be followed by a panel discussion together with professors Urska Sadl, Sarah Nouwen and Nicolas Petit.

Participation is mandatory for first year and LLM researchers. The afternoon session on research method in law will be made available via a Zoom link to all researchers, visitors and fellows of the law department.

On the second day, first year and LLM researchers will be given an overview of the first year/LLM programme by professor Mathias Siems and a on overview of the general aspects of the PHD/LLM programme by professor Gabor Halmai.

In the morning session, first year and LLM researchers will also meet the entire faculty of the Law department, the Max Weber Fellows in law for the academic year 2020/2021, the Fernand Braudel fellows and visitors.

After the lunch break, the second induction day will continue with a panel discussion on the supervisory relationship, with the participation of professors Joanne Scott, Gabor Halmai and Jurgen Kurtz. The session will be followed by a presentation of the European Journal of Legal Studies and of the Academy of European Law.

The day will conclude with a welcome by the Researcher Reps.
