Selected Issues of Public and Private Law in the time of the COVID 19 emergency
This course will provide a broad view over the impact of COVID-19 on the different branches of the law, inviting researchers to reflect on the common theme of COVID-19 from an interdisciplinary perspective. It will offer an opportunity to understand how the pandemic has shaped and transformed different legal areas, ranging from public to private law, and to rethink the future in light of the legal changes brought on by the virus. Questions such as ‘What effects has COVID-19 produced on constitutional structures?’, or ‘What is the role of the State in a post-pandemic world?’ or ‘What influence can COVID-19 have on ongoing and future contractual relationships?’ will be debated. Each individual session will start with a general question which will then be further discussed between the lecturer and an assigned commentator (researcher) to provide an initial view on the matter. Researchers are expected to contribute to the debate from their own angles and expertise.
