Vilfredo Pareto Thesis Prize Winners 2021

Matthias Schmidtblaicher and Egon Tripodi have received the Vilfredo Pareto Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Economics.

Th Vilfredo Pareto Prize, established by the EUI Department of Economics, honours Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian sociologist, economist, political scientist and philosopher who lived and worked in Florence and Fiesole between 1882 and 1892 and is considered one of the pioneers of modern scientific research in economics.

The prize is awarded annually for the best doctoral thesis in economics defended at the EUI in the 12 months preceding the Conferring Ceremony.

Matthias Schmidtblaicher has been awarded the Vilfredo Pareto Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Economics for his dissertation Essays in the econometrics of asset pricing and public health.

Egon Tripodi
has been awarded the Vilfredo Pareto Prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Economics for his dissertation Belief formation and prosocial behavior.
