Teodora Serafimova, Research Associate at the Transport Area of the Florence School of Regulation (FSR), sits down with Ana Salazar, Head of Sustainability Division at AENA to discuss the organisation's climate change policy.

Although aviation was one of the hardest-hit sectors by COVID-19, last year AENA announced a new climate strategy pledging to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, a proposed goal which is a full ten years ahead of the target set by the Airports Council International (ACI) Europe. Listen to the newest episode now as Salazar chats about the main drivers behind AENA’s climate strategy, lists concrete measures is AENA implementing to reduce its CO2 and environmental footprint and discusses regulatory and financing gaps in the current EU framework that should be modified to help broader aviation decarbonisation.
