This year, the international Open Access Week takes place from 25 to 31 October.

In the framework of this year's theme, “It Matters How We Open Knowledge: Building Structural Equity”, the Library has organised two events during the week:

  • Tuesday, 26 October Open Access Week Roundtable: four experts of Open Access from KU Leuven, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Oxford University Press and the SPS Department at the EUI, will discuss data sharing, transformative agreements, Open Access models in publishing and, more broadly, Open science in the post-Covid era.
  • Wednesday, 27 October Transformative agreements: publish your articles in Open Access for free. This event will illustrate the Library’s support to EUI members in their efforts to publish Open Access through specific 'transformative' agreements with publishers.

The EUI, through its Open Access policy, supports an approach to scholarly communication that values the principles of Open Science aiming at the broadest openness, reach and impact of its research.

In the past, the Open Science Office at the Library organised various events to mark this occasion and raise awareness about Open Science and Open Access and the services provided at the EUI to support them, such as Roundtables, Research Skill sessions and the Impact Challenge.

In addition to the events organised by the EUI Library, a CIVICA roundtable discussion on Open Science, the Social Sciences and the CIVICA Alliance will take place on Wednesday 27 October.
