Programme Description
The EUI’s School of Transnational Governance offered a training on “The Governance of a Paradigm Change: for a Socially Responsible Technological Disruption” to 20 officials of the Spanish Ministries of Innovation and Research, Economy, and Education. The aim of the initiative was to equip the participants with the knowledge and strategic competences to best address the new challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the public sphere. The training took place at the end of February at ‘Residencia des Estudiantes’ in Madrid.
Overall, the training aimed to focus on the opportunities, rather than the downsides, highlighting that with the right tools and regulation in place, citizens can benefit from Artificial Intelligence.
Expert trainers provided insights into the different dimensions in the field, such as algorithm management and ethics.
The question of how Artificial Intelligence should be regulated and which role Europe should play in this context was one of the issues discussed.
