Biography

Bronwen Manby is a Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies of the European University Institute, where she works with the Global Citizenship research programme.

She has written extensively on comparative nationality law, statelessness, and legal identity, especially in Africa, both in a scholarly context and as a consultant for clients including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Bank, the African Union, and others.

Bronwen previously worked a decade each for the Open Society Foundations and Human Rights Watch, as well as for Lawyers for Human Rights, South Africa.

Bronwen is also a visiting fellow at the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa at the London School of Economics.
