Biography

As Executive Editor, Germany, Florian Eder is shaping and implementing POLITICO’s expansion strategy. He also is a member of the senior newsroom leadership team. Until last summer, Florian was the author of Brussels Playbook, the publication’s flagship morning briefing for all things Brussels and EU. He has been teaching at various journalism schools and was a lecturer at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan.

Prior to joining POLITICO as a Managing Editor — and member of the founding team — in 2015, Florian was EU correspondent for Welt, covering EU politics and policies from Brussels, where he arrived at the peak of the Euro crisis in 2011. Florian previously worked as an editor in Berlin and as Italy correspondent.
