Giacomo Vagni is a sociologist with specialisations in time use research, social stratification, and gender inequality. His research focuses on the social stratification of time use in different welfare regimes. He also works on the transformations of family relations since the 1960s in Britain using time diary data.At the EUI, Giacomo will be pursuing his comparative work on inequality and time use patterns. He will also be working on a cross-national project about the stratification of childcare and parental time.Giacomo completed his D.Phil. (PhD) in Sociology at Nuffield College, University of Oxford. He holds an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Geneva. He has been a visiting student at Cornell University, Boston University and the French Institute for Demographic Studies.Giacomo is a core member of the Centre for Time Use Research, University College London, and he is an associate member of Nuffield College, University of Oxford. His work has appeared in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the European Sociological Review and the British Journal of Sociology.
