Biography

Silvia Pianta’s research focuses on environmental policy and politics. In her work, she combines insights from political and behavioural sciences to shed light on the social and political challenges and enablers of decarbonization. She investigates the determinants of environmental attitudes and behaviours, climate policy preferences, and public attention to climate change. Her research has been published in Environmental Research Letters, Climate Policy and Energy Policy, among others.

During her time at the EUI, Silvia will work on a project investigating the relationship between environmental change and political behaviour. She will also refine several ongoing projects on the interaction between individual and social behaviour and environmental policymaking.
