Biography

Zhanna is an education policy specialist with more than twenty years of professional experience in education and education policy. Zhanna received her Ed.M. degree from Harvard University, and a doctorate degree (DPA) from the University of Plymouth where she was specializing in monitoring and evaluation of education reforms. Zhanna's professional and research interests include education policy analysis, good governance and accountability, international education policy. She participated in development of state programs and strategic documents for the Government and the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan. Zhanna launched a number of initiatives in education: the first in Kazakhstani media weekly column devoted to education issues in the country, the first national project "Monitoring and Evaluation of Education Reforms," the Education Research Annual Grant, the "Education Policy Analysis Center" project. Zhanna's current major professional goal is to introduce monitoring and evaluation to education policy development and implementation in Kazakhstan.
